I think the "recent statistic" was that Apple users spend more than their non-Apple counterparts, period.  Part of this probably socio-economic in nature, part of it might be brand loyalty (or blindness as some have argued).  Whether that number is $100K, $200K or $200, I don't know, but the marketing/research data miners for Orbitz are already trying to capitalize on it.

Yeah I heard that on NPR the other day.  It had to do with the majority of Apple users being educated, middle-upper class consumers that tend to spend quite a bit more money than non-apple users when visiting Orbitz.  It's really interesting from the web-analytics side of things.

put me in google's corner for growth capacity.  i think apple's hit its peak, and i find steve jobs a tough loss for the company's future...although something's fishy with the larry page "illness" as well.

sign me up for a pair of google glasses and a google car.  they seem to have the corner on innovation, they'll figure out how to make money off it.  driverless cars now legal in NV and soon to be in CA.

Smaller screen, lower resolution, lower quality camera, fewer apps, no 3G/4G capability, not currently shipping. Superior.

...Not that I expect a reasonable discussion from anyone on this board—Apple or Android mouthpieces alike—but it looks like a neat little device, clearly meant to challenge the Fire, the best selling Android tablet on the market.

From my view, I want to see what they do with it. At $200, you'll have a TON of people picking one up, and that'll draw developer interest. Can they keep it updated? Only 10% of Android phones on the market run a version created in the last two years [1]. Will this little guy have the same fate?

Assuming they can tackle those two issues, I don't see why this wouldn't become a great device.

It's a good thing you guys don't blindly follow a technology or company—disregarding and degrading other products just because they're not the ones you enjoy—like those idiot Apple fanboys!

Apple products suck the hind tit for business. Their email app is frickin awful and you can't just not use it. Ditto for Safari - it sucks. But you can't use any other browser as the default and Apple mandates that any other browser is crippled compared to Safari. So I call it crabapple because I think it truly is crap - overly limiting for anyone that wants to do more than shoot pissed off animals at structures or slice various fruits. Sorry about your tiny pink phone love, bro.

Here's one last, desperate, likely to fail attempt...

Marquette updated their app yesterday. Now when you open it, the pictures cycle (actually looks pretty good) and has the options of...

• Admissions & Academics, which describes available majors, minors, programs, schools, libraries, and a section for parents
  
• Maps & Tour, a Google map of campus with about 50 flags of important locations that link to pictures, addresses, and phone numbers
  
• Contacts, which right now really only seems to have General Info, Emergency, and Undergrad Admissions
  
• News, Buzz, Social Media, includes News & Events, Social Media, and Web Exclusives from Marquette Magazine
  
• Campus Life, which has a number of areas, from athletics to on-campus cultural centers to worship activities to the Marquette email
  
• Alumni, includes info to connect to alumni, club info, networking, and donation info

For a prospective or current student, it actually looks like it has a lot of useful information. It's clearly still just out of Beta Test mode, and needs some improvements, but I like seeing Marquette continue to branch out using modern technology. Anyone else have thoughts on the App?

Did you guys see the re-tooled google voice actions (dubbed google now) demoed the other day? Since android is the godfather of mobile voice action (sorry siri) i'm not surprised at how impressive it is.

Also, in regards to the nexus 7 and software updates this tablet is a carrier free google flagship device which should have zero issues in that regard.
