Which option would you prefer for the NCAA tournament?

3 Seed in the Saint Louis Region

I realize it all depends on matchups, but without knowing how the bracket fills out I'd prefer a 3 seed coming out of Saint Louis.

Assuming we could make it to the Sweet 16, Marquette should be able to get decent fan support with the close location.

2 in the Phoenix, as that would most likely give us better matchups, and the 3 in St. Louis means we will likely have to play Mizzou or Kansas in the sweet 16 or elite 8 with a large home court advantage.  The Phoenix regional would probably be a true neutral venue.

.....and your answer is??

I'll go with 3 in St. Louis.

Any possibility of a 2 seed in St. Louis if some other teams lose this week?

Win the next three games and theres no doubt.

2 seed.  Give me a 15, 7, 3 vs. a 14, 6, 2.  Only thing that I have doubts with at the moment is UNC would be lined up to be the 1 in Phoenix, but I guess when it gets to that point it's either UNC/Kansas/Kentucky so it's a rough go either way.

Phoenix.  But largely because I will be there for the first round to visit my girl.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

2 in Phoenix. The only drawback is potentially seeing UNC in the Elite 8, but would Kansas out of the Midwest with a heavily partisan Jayhawk crowd be any worse? I feel a lot more comfortable playing against the teams on the 3 line than potentially having to play Duke and Kansas back-to-back.

2 in Phoenix all day.

+1.  Not that I will be visiting your girl, but I can be there.

There are no elite teams in the geographic west; therefore, the West is most likely to be the weakest across all regions.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

TallTitan34

Good points.  Maybe I do want a two instead....

... 15 ,7, 3 would be nice.

I voted 3 in St. Louis because it would make it worlds easier for me to get there, but I'd be elated with a 2 seed.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

How likely is that Marquette be seeded #3 in the St. Louis Region (i.e., playing Rounds 2 and 3 in Pittsburgh)?

Better than 50-50 on St Louis at this point.  Pittsburgh is an outside chance... more likely Columbus or Louisville for rounds 2/3.

Just my opinion.

Totally up in the air. The only region I'm sure we won't be in is the East. I'd say Midwest is a slight favorite, maybe 40%, and 30% each for South and West.

No thanks. The Superdome is where I want to play
