Can someone explain to me why people are so enamored with this guy?  He's tall, I get it.  But even guys like Sims for gtown are much better players.  Drummond hasn't shown me anything, and almost looks scared out there.  I get the potential thing, but there has been plenty of players with high ceilings.  But mike kelley saying big east rookie of the year?  Theres TWO guys on St. Johns more deserving of the award.

I agree about the St Johns guys, but Drummond is a beast, he will be a nba guy for a long time. Think about someone like him in our offense? Dear god.

Definitely agree with everyone that Harkless and Harrison (I assume that's who you're referring to) are both better candidates for ROY than Drummond.  However, as others have said, Drummond has huge upside.  People are enamored with him because he is an athletic and coordinated seven-footer.  He's not just tall.  Just tall is that Freeze guy on Xavier.

I think it was in the Seth Davis article where one of the people quoted stated something about UConn running no offense and that it was worse than normal.  The true crime with Drummond this year is that UConn has not utilized him offensively at all.  I'm sure there are coaches who would have loved to have him on their team and use him in the post as the center of a team's offense.  Calhoun uses big men for defense and rebounding.  I just think its a bad match and an underutilization of talent.

Also, both excited to watch these St. John's guys develop over the next couple years and not looking forward to playing against them.
