Landing Jerrace Howard would be a great get, would be Buzz's best recruit of the year.

If I'm Illinois, I'm giving JH a real good look at the Bruce Weber vacancy. Their fans are demanding better, but that would be a good step up like Buzz was for Marquette.

It would be a ballsy move that would almost certainly pay off big time for Illinois.  The new AD will almost certainly want to make a splashier move.  Lucky for us.  "Will Howard have the balls to say like Buzz did; If you don't want to give me the job, I understand, but I won't hang around to work with the new guy?"
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Unless one of our guys gets a head coaching job we don't have an opening.

Buzz is way too loyal to his staff to let somebody go.

Benford is doing a good job for us in Illinois. Howard has done great at Illinois but he has had the advantage of recruiting for the state school.

Doubt he would do any better at MU then Tony has done.

Big12 is a solid conference so jumping at Howard has greater risks than rewards considering you have to stabilize a program that has teetered on being irrelevant. Illini fans are hugely supportive of their school, so this upcoming hire should be looked at seriously.

Howard needs to stay on as an asst or else he'll bring recruits with him.

The same goes for Tony. I know Buzz is loyal but he also knows he's supportive of Tony and Aki nabbing HC positions, if they're ready. (What's a blessing for MU is the stability of the Assistants. TC had a revolving door and that hurt recruiting and relationships.)

Tony leaving will hurt MU, but if he's ready and the right position pops up, I support his move.

But who will go with him? Taylor? Any other recruits?
