The former SHU coach picks Marquette to be the team out of the Big East to make some noise in March. I know a lot of people here didn't like Gonzales when he was at SHU but he does know basketball.

I posted this 2 or 3 years ago.  I was in NYC for some reason and was catching my train back to Connecticut.  (It was just after BG was fired.)  He was standing by kiosk talking with someone.  I was with my friend, a Seton Hall grad, who asked him if it was his new job.  We didn't stick around for an answer as the train waits for no one.

He didn't say Gonzalez knew nothing.  He's saying that if Gonzalez had said we were overrated, this board would have derided Gonzalez as a terrible, no-nothing coach that got canned from Seton Hall.  And he's right...that absolutely would have been the reaction from this board.

I know that's what he's saying, and I'm saying that would be a ridiculous thing to say.  If Bobby G had said we were overrated, I would not agree with his opinion, but I would not say that Bobby G knows nothing about basketball, because that's pretty obviously not true.
