What is the cost of seeing your seven-game winning streak snapped on the road to an unranked Notre Dame? For Marquette, it was slipping from No. 15 to No. 18 in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll and losing 213 votes in the process.

Wow. Rough treatment by Scott Johnson. To go from 16 to not rated after a road loss to a hot team that had just given Syracuse its only loss of the season.

Of course, I'm not sure that makes any less sense than Fletcher Mackel moving us up 4 spots after our 1,000-point loss to the hated Irishmen.
