I was driving home from work tonight at 9:40 p.m., and Stephen Bardo was on talking about the overemphasis on focusing on kids individual talent from when they are in 1st grade, and then he gave a GREAT shout out, which to the best of my memory was,

"What we need to tell kids, is that if you want to get a scholarship to Syracuse, or Marquette or Ohio State, you are going to need to learn to play team ..."

Wow, how did we get in that sentence with the current No. 1 in Syracuse and the team I think we will win it all in the end, Ohio State.

Bardo was from Kentucky, started for the Illinis Final Four team, and played a little with the Mavs and Pistons in the pros, but does anyone know if there is any Marquette connection?  If not, it's a really good sign of where we stand that we would be thorwn out there as one of three top-of-mind schools a kid might hope for a scholarship from!
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).
