Niners got little respect heading in to today, I thought they would beat the Saints at home today. They're not flashy, just playing their game so far today. Thought before the playoffs started that the Niners would be the toughest out in the NFC.

still think that the saints pull this one out. they just punched in a score, and i dont see them turning it over 3 times the rest of the game. I dont think the Niners offense can score enough to keep the Saints down.

Saints will win by 10+. 49ers won't win in the playoffs. When is the last time a team with a quarterback as bad as Alex Smith made a Championship game? Sanchez and the Jets could be argued. Defenses no longer win championships the way the NFL rules are set up. Pack or Saints vs. Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Edit: the Giants could even make the Super Bowl. Solid offense. Good pass rush. I would say the 49ers have the smallest chance to come out of the NFC. I think Detroit would have beaten them in a playoff game as well. Not the Falcons though.

Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Difler, Bears got the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman.  It can happen.

That just proved my point. Those were both before all of the rule changes that made it impossible to touch a quarterback without giving up 15 yards or punish a wideout for going over the middle. The passing game wins in the playoffs nowadays. Heck even the Broncos won with their passing game last weekend.

I will say that midway through the 3rd quarter, this defense is as good as advertised though.  Some tremendous plays - and not just the turnovers. I havent watched much, if any of the Niners this year, but the fundamentals on that defense are incredible. Very well coached.

Edit - Say what you want about Alex Smith too, but his receivers are really letting him down today.

Well, I'm eating my words.  And happy about it too.  Was sure IF the Packers beat the Giants they'd lose to the Saints.

All time classic game, wow.

Niners are for real, a legit threat to win the NFC (I've said this for a while now). They would beat the Giants, and give the Packers a hell of a game if they play next week.

Those last 4 minutes were amazing.  Partly, because I never thought the 49ers could make such quick strikes once, much less twice.  After the Niners retook the lead, NO took the kickoff out of the end zone and started at their 12.  Marched 88 yards in less than a minute to retake the lead.  Then the Niners take the kickoff out of their end zone and start at their 12.  Marched 88 yards in a little over a minute.

Just an unbelievable ending.  Was really an enjoyable game to watch.

Pats/Broncos feels like 45-10 is gonna happen.

I like Ravens (in a close one) and Packers in OT tomorrow.

Stating the obvious here, but what a weekend (year) for TE's. 7 TD's for TE's in a game and a half thus far. There's almost no way to cover guys like Graham, Gronkowski, Vernon, Hernandez. Finley has had a bit of a down year, but he can be in that class when he wants to be. What incredible weapons.

Edit: Check that, 9 TD's for TE's.

I was going to ask for Powerball numbers, but since you picked the Packers, I didn't want to push it@

Go Niners!

Huge win for the franchise.

I'm an Alice Smith hater but he did one of the best 1:30 min drives I have EVER seen in the history of the 49ers...and that's one hefty compliment.

That Jacobs TD would be the 'dagger'.

Really poor effort from GB today.
