I guess I have been good this year!

On this Christmas Eve night, Santa brought me a Top 10 basketball team. He's given me back my youth, when we were consistently a Top 10 Team. When we won a national championship and a small school from Milwaukee was the Mecca of college basketball.

Santa's made me feel like we're again capable of winning a national championship. And we do it with class and dignity. OK, maybe we thought Al did so too. The rest of the world didn't!

We have a Sweet 16 berth this year. Yes, we got wiped out by North Carolina, but we played our hearts out and never quit trying. We have a great team and a great coach. What more can a middle aged Warrior ask for???

Maybe Santa isn't a guy in a red suit with a white beard. Maybe he's a nearly bald basketball coach with a knack for recruiting. Whatever, keep it up Buzz. Let's be 28-1 or whatever -1!

I'll have what he's having.

Nicely done dgies!  A nice summary of the state of MU hoops 2011-2012.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

Speaking of MU related gifts, the in laws picked up me one these.

Anyone else get something cool MU related??

Mr. Nielsen

11-1 start with win @ Wisconsin and Washington at MSG. It's been a good Marquette Christmas!

Christmas Eve at my Dad's part of the family was great! They are UW Badgers household. They said, Todd Mayo is a stud!

Got the Sportula as well and was excited.  And as far as the "Marquette's National Perception" thread, it was apparently found at a Bed, Bath, & Beyond in Cincinnati, which surprised me.

All I really want is a healthy knee for Otule.

Dr. Blackheart

ha ha.  Got the MU Sportula as well. Glad there are other families out there like mine who think us Scoopers are freaks. Beer, Barbie and Ballin combo not a bad innovation!

By the way Santa, would it be too much to ask if we kicked Vanderbilt's ass Thursday and Chris Otule came back strong?

2 tickets to MU v. Cinci, row 10!!!!

Received SPorts Illustrated's "The College Basketball Book" for Christmas. Great read. Two Marquette features as well (McGuire and Wade/his mom). Encourage any big college bball fan to take a look.

Damn, you must have been especially good!
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I got one of the Sportulas as well.  Also a personalized MU mug, and a new hoodie.  Very excited about them all.

The mother-in-law got me two t-shirts for Christmas. The first was a Real Madrid shirt. While I follow soccer, I'm not by any stretch a Real fan. I don't even really follow the Spanish league much, but when I do, I cheer for a small side. Yet she made sure to talk to people so she got the right shirt. And of course, she didn't get a gift receipt. No idea when I'll ever wear it, so I did the smile and thanks routine.

At least she got the team right with the other one...not the first Marquette shirt I'd have chosen, but I can never have enough MU shirts.

Beer Town, here's thing 'bout in-laws. They're best behaved by shuttin' their mouths and openin' their wallets. Next year tell 'em "gifts accepted, money preferred." Should serve both sides very well.

While you are 100% correct, the best way to handle this particular in-law is just to shut the mouth because she's going to do what she's going to do no matter what anyone says, and she's always right. Besides, any time there's something I really want, I just buy it myself.

Of course...she also gave us a healthy check, so I can't really complain much about the $$$ aspect ;D

That could describe any mother-in-law, anywhere in the world (even my own mom as MIL).
