Here we go.  This just fired me up even more today.  http://host.madison.com/sports/college/basketball/men/uw-men-s-basketball-vander-blue-far-from-blue/article_734bb6fc-1d1f-11e1-a0e4-0019bb2963f4.html

The article started off nice, but then tailed into how Gasser and Brust essentially took Blue's scholarship and how well off UW was for it.  Even though it specifically states that Blue's scholarship was used for Duje Dukan (who?).

The fact that this article was written seems to suggest that they are still sore about losing Blue.

I thought it was pretty fair.  At least they avoided his legal issues, which would certainly have been mentioned if it was your standard hatchet job.

What did you read into this article that suggested it was unfair?  Not once does it say they were better off without Blue, but says that Gasser and Brust are "great fits for the program."  Which is true.  Gasser has basically started since coming to UW and Brust has been quite a spark off the bench.  In hindsight, I think it was a better fit for both programs.

After reading the article, I was surprised that it didn't pull any punches.  I actually think the reporter did an excellent job showing the positives of the situation for both teams ( how all players are happy and appear better off for the decisions made).  As a Marquette alum,  I've been conditioned to read horribly biased articles out of any Wisconsin publication, but this wasn't the case in this article.

TallTitan34

Pretty fair piece both ways.

MUCam

Paranoia is the only reason anyone could find this article slanted against Blue and/or Marquette. I thought it was a well-written.

Ellenson Guerrero

Ya, I'm pretty sure that's about as fair a piece as you could ever reasonably expect from a Madison paper.

Agreed.  Life choices do involve shades of grey.  In his TV show this week, Buzz surmised that it was better for Jamil (and MU ) to have gone to Oregon in the final analysis.

Good for Gasser and Brust.  And, good for Vander.
