Marqus Howard

Hurt his knee - he's currently on the bench icing it, and is in tears. Looks like something was torn... tough break for him. Just saw reports on twitter that he's scheduled to have an MRI tomorrow though.

A long time ago, Mbakwe spit into a petri dish. We now know that saliva as steroids.

You know what, I feel for the guy. Your time in college is sooo limited and he's done well with Minnesota.

Be happy for him and hope he heals in a way that his strength and dexterity comes back. And, hoping against hope, that the Idiots in Indianapolis do the right thing and give him one more year.

I am sure if his season is done he deserves a medical redshirt but how old is this guy going to be next year?  25?  Jeesh.  Doesn't seem fare to have 25 year olds and 18 year olds on the same court together.

Wasn't chris weinke 28 when he won the heisman trophy at Florida State?  Makes trevor look young!

That's awful, there was talk here in MN that he had a shot at the nba. I'd be crying to.

As for te steroid bit, did I miss something?

nyg

Terrible for the guy.  I wish it would have worked out for him at MU, but he became quite the player for Minnesota.  This injury probably takes him out as a first round or high second round draft choice.  Best of luck in his recovery.

Weinke and Weeden played minor league baseball before returning to college. Also, it's not uncommon for Mormon athletes to go on their missions before attending college making them 24-25 by their senior year.

bilsu

He already redshirted and is not likely to be granted a 6th year.

Golden Avalanche

Awful fuckin' news. Feel bad for the kid. He will go down as the true definition of an enigma.

Why not?  The NCAA has done this many times in similar situations.  A Medical Waiver is different than a Red Shirt.  If he applies for one, I would expect the NCAA to grant him one.
