Hold on!!.... I thought Crean put up the money for that?  I remember the pomp and circumstance and press-conferences, his family, Father-in-law...or was that something else?

They have the pavilion built now, which was scaled back, but not the larger original vision (with links).

Lame.

If they want out early, just ask for a two-year forfeiture of 80% of their television rights. Based on recent figures, that should be over $20M additional per team, and everyone wins. They get to leave when they want, and the Big East schools get to profit significantly more off their departure, including continuing to get money after they leave.

Buzz Williams' Spillproof Chiclets Cup

My fear here is that eventually the new football schools decide they want Big East competition for their other sports. While there are travel costs to be concerned about, it'll be pretty effing weak if we end up 10 years down the line or so stuck in a basketball conference with UCF, Boise State, Navy, and Southern Methodist, in addition to the regular DePaul/Providence/Seton Hall pushovers.

Yes, extremely unlikely, but remember West Virginia, Rutgers, and Virginia Tech all started as Big East Football-only members, then joined for all sports.

That's a lot of money to send the BSU, BYU, and Air Force archery teams to Hartford for a competition. The reason BSU is requiring an East/West set-up is because they want to lessen travel expenses for their football team. If they're already concerned about travel costs for the lucrative football program, I can't see any way they increase travel for non-profit sports.
