Adam Zagoria tweeted this morning; "2012 C Richard Peters of Westwind lists UConn, Fla, Washington, Wash St, Clemson, SHU, Marquette, Texas Tech & Alabama, per his mentor."

Here's his ESPN profile, graded a 91:  http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/67477/richard-peters

Dick Peters....... that's a little redundant.

I know I laid it good on his mom but she's just obsessed with me now.

Skatastrophy

Dick Peters is still available to fill our opening in 2012

We own this list of schools.  If we want him, we can have him
QuoteWho is Recruiting him? Clemson, Washington State, Washington, Marquette, Texas Tech, Seton Hall, Auburn, and Alabama.

Found this on the Washington forum:
He seems to be a talented player, but I would be a little wary of him considering how often he's switched high schools. Last year, he was at Brewster Academy, the year before he was at the Sagemont school in Flordia and this 2010-11 season he was at Westwind Prep, but he doesn't seem to be enrolled there any longer either.

Three prep schools in three years raises some red flags for me.

Peters verbally committed to Oklahoma in 2009, but re-opened his recruitment in April.
"Right now I am open-minded to every school but after Sept. 9, the first day schools can come out, I will know which schools are really interested in me," said the 6-foot-10, 260-pound center, who will play his senior season at Westwind Prep International. "I want to go to a school that is making me a top priority. I don't want to be a Plan B for the college I choose."

More than 15 Division-1 programs have offered Peters a scholarship. When asked which colleges he is anxious to meet with during the contact period, he mentioned Alabama, Washington, Auburn, Marquette, Seton Hall, Clemson and Washington State.

"Clemson is one school that I definitely want to set up an official visit with," Peters said. "A lot of teams are guard oriented, but Clemson's offense needs their big man to produce for them to be successful. I like the responsibility of being a big asset to my team so that is a school I am very interested in."

Peters has played at four different prep schools. He said that has helped him develop an excellent basketball IQ.

"I have played in four different areas and seen different aspects of the game. I am a smart player," Peters added. "I have good speed for my height, I have good footwork and I have the ability to pass the ball. I am also a good rebounder. I know where to go to get good position to grab the board."

Dick Peters sounds like an ideal candidate to plug the 5 hole when Otule graduates.

Seeing that he had committed to OU, is there a TJ Taylor connection?

does not want a guard school? wants to be the man? Why is he interested in us?

Just thought I'd mention Peters is off the board. He committed to Washington State yesterday.

Looks like we are looking most seriously at Matt Willms among the bigs. Also still showing some interest in Nolan. Not sure where we are with Jordan Hare or Blaise Mbargorba.

Blackhat

Blaise Mbargorba update from 9/29:

Northwestern is solidly in Mbargorba's Top 5, along with George Mason, SMU, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech. He has already visited Vanderbilt and plans to take an official to Virginia Tech next weekend.

Mbargorba is a raw talent, but his size and upside have drawn more than 15 scholarship offers. A native of Cameroon, Mbargorba came to the United States, by himself, four years ago to pursue basketball and an education. He says he "played a little bit" in Cameroon but didn't really know anything about the game until he arrived in New Jersey.

He says his strengths are defense, rebounding and his shooting touch. But he readily admits that he has a lot to learn, saying he needs to work on his low post moves, his timing on shot blocking and his confidence when he gets the ball around the basket.

Dick Peters is a stiff.  Peace out

He"s gonna love Pullman. It's hours away from anywhere. Makes Milwaukee look like the Big Apple

Dr. Blackheart

Apparently local WSU boosters have printed up tees in his honor. The NCAA dropped the OSU investigation and are hot tailing it to Pullman to delve into it all.
