Dickie V names DJO to his fifth team solid gold 2011-2012 spot.

Let the underrating begin.

I actually think a lot of people are overrating DJO at this point in time.  He certainly has the skill set to become an all-american, but he has been frustratingly inconsistent at times.  Even when he scores 20 points in a game, it's usually due to a good half.  I would love for him to make the jump, and start to play complete games.  If he does that, there is a good chance we meet the high expectations for this team.  I just have a hard time believing that DJO is "underrated" when he is listed as one of the top 25 players in college basketball.  Seems about right to me...

I agree with you dwaderoy. In order for DJO to really make waves he needs to step it up and play full games. I am not saying that he isn't as good as everyone says, he needs to become a complete force. Last year he had his up's and down's, in order for him to be league MVP he needs to go off and finish games.

Good insight southsidephan.
Also, he needs to get to the line more and shoot more free throws. Those will be the easy points for him, and the easy points for the team.

DJO is a very good player, but not AA in my opinion.

I've felt DJO was going to be a star since the Old Spice Classic his sophomore year. I don't know, he just has that quality. He's needed to build consistency and obviously last year was hampered by his early season struggles, but I think he's ready. If not for so many guys staying out of the NBA Draft, I'd be touting him for First Team All-American. I am surprised we don't hear more Ben Gordon comparisons as I've thought all along that those two were very similar players.

For whatever it's worth, I thought Wes would end up the most successful of the Three Amigos from their freshman year, expected JFB to become a great #2 option to Lazar after his sophomore year here, and expected both Lazar and JFB to get drafted.

Of course, I also thought Buycks would carry on his midseason form last year and we all know how that turned out...

yeah i certainly agree that he is capable of being a dominant college player.  I guess I just don't feel he's underrated at this point.  I always thought Wes would be the best NBA player as well, fwiw.
