Keon Pledger?
« on: August 16, 2011, 01:32:53 AM »
Randomly came across this twitpic combing the interweb.

1   Keon Pledger   G   6'3"   185   Fr.   Lynwood   Bellflower

http://twitpic.com/66nqez

Seems to have bounced around a bit for those of you who prefer 4 years at 1 school players.

Also seems to have played for the Golden Eagles before... and then was let go.

and he was in the LBJ Chalk commercial.... very random.

I haven't got any experience in receiving recruiting packets.... Is this just the standard thing that recruits get at the beginning of the process? Some of the material there looks interesting, some of it needs a marketing makeover - "Articles of Interest"... While there are some flattering things written about him around, having the character of being kicked off the Idaho team seems like something that would stop this at step 1.

He was the leading scorer last year at San Bernadino Valley College at 18.2 ppg.  SBVC looks like a middling program in a middling conference.

I don't know how much of this is simply based off of somebody with a bunch of data that they draw down to shotgun out some packets of information trying to catch a flyer on someone.

I know, and am not passing judgment, but if you are going for a D1 scholarship there are probably some things you shouldn't twitpic.

Ok, maybe i am passing judgment.

Agreed... MU should start doing some social networking research before spending $10 on shipping. Entertaining at least during some slow times....

Did he actually get in trouble? It said he got dropped for academic reasons. That could mean he was not smart enough to do the work or he did not try to do the work. In the general student population there are a lot of students that party too much their freshmen year and do not return. Most junior college players end up in junior college, because they lack the discipline to do school work. I am not arguing whether we should recruit him or not, but there are plenty of non-students that are able to turn it around academically and become good students. Just because he did not originally cut it academically, does not mean he is a bad person or cannot do the academic part now.

Academic reasons? Shocker.

I'd also like to add that putting weed and brandy on your twitter pic doesn't make you a good person either. Guy seems like a major Richard.

Don't care if this cat is the second coming of MJ. I'm insulted if Buzz decides to honor him with a 180k gift opportunity to my alma mater knowing what is already fact.
