Pearl back to Iowa?
« on: March 27, 2007, 12:22:13 PM »
Not being a fan of the Illini, this would be interesting to see. Pearl to the left, Sampson to the right. I don't think Illini nation would be too happy.

I think this is a case of Iowa playing CYA mode. That way, they can at least tell people they talked to Pearl. No way I'd leave Tennessee for Iowa. Not in a million years. But, money talks. And I guess history does too. But considering his "problems" in Iowa in the past, Pearl would have to play Illinois at least twice a year. Not a good thing for him.

Fred Flintstone is staying at UT, he said he met with Iowa but has decided to stay.  He loves the orange sports coats.

I wonder if he'd paint himself yellow if they announced his hiring?

would have been a dumb move to go to Iowa, Tennessee is a much better college sports town, and he is starting something down there....

don't want to change the Big Ten that much in a year... with Tubby Smith and his style of play going to Minnesota, could you imagine what Pearl's style of offense would do to the Big Ten... Wisconsin and their "lets score 60 points" style of offense just wouldn't cut it.
