Nice article, and I'm glad he is having the workouts.  I was discouraged to see that DraftExpress hasn't had him as one of the top D-League prospects despite last year.  It is a tough spot at a small 2 whose on-ball defense still seems suspect, but just have to hope that he finds a nitch as someone who can come into a few situations to hit a 3 or drive by a defender for a quick bucket.

The article did remind me about the question I've been asking since soon after the college season ended, "Who in the world was telling Carleton Scott he should skip his last year at Notre Dame to announce for the draft?"

Would he have gone if the draft was 5 rounds long?

I really don't wish ill on any opposing players, and him leaving gives us a big edge against ND next year.

I was just it absolute disbelief when he didn't withdraw his name from the draft.  Sure, I'm sorry when a kid doesn't get drafted after a great four years in college, though I hope Jerel will cherish being a 2nd team AP American his senior year.  But for a kid to give up a potentially great senior year in college like Scott did with virtually no chance of being drafted is awful.

I THINK I heard or read that he has a child. So obviously that played a big factor. Also, this would have been his 5th year at ND. maybe he was just ready to move on with his life??
