I found this article on the Chicago Tribune's website and thought some would like to read it. Well written and well said regardless of how many feel about the Heat these days. Believe me, I am no Heat fan.

+1  They are the only NBA team I can watch and it's 100% because of Wade.  I am so thrilled this young man went to our university.

Especially if he rocks IU shorts.

Maybe he's angling for this in the future    http://aol.sportingnews.com/ncaa-basketball/story/2011-06-07/the-best-college-basketball-coaching-jobs-start-with-unc

This was pretty funny.

3. TEXAS. There's so much talent and money — and minimal pressure to win it all. What more could a coach want?

The UNC job?

I enjoy watching the Heat, and actually enjoy watching the NBA a bit more.  I enjoyed watching Jordan years ago, and I like the Tim Duncan championship teams as well.  It doesn't compare to college BBall, but I enjoy NCAA or NBA over any other sport.

While I thought Labron's announcement was a dumb move, and people saw the ego, I also think there had to be some humbleness for him to realize he needed Wade and Bosh.

Especially since he cheated on his wife and hooked up with Gabrielle Union in front of his kids.

Wade, like all of us, is a flawed human who has and will make mistakes. It's not fair to judge the whole of a person by one mistake. Though, frankly, I like Dwyane less and less every time I see him succumb to James' showboating antics, I'll take him as a representative of MU over the vast majority of guys in the NBA, or even pro sports for that matter.
Then again, I do find irony in the fact that some would place Wade on a pedestal while trashing another NBA superstar for the apparently unforgivable sin of cheating on a test as a teenager.

The court dismissed all of those claims as frivolous.  DWade's ex was just throwing stuff at the wall to see what would stick to try and keep her kids.

Well, the lawyer for his ex had to believe that it wasn't frivolous or he/she would open him/herself up to sanctions from the court (for essentially wasting the court's time and resources). Just because the court dismissed it as frivolous doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just may not have had any legal relevance in the case at hand.

If something is adjudicated frivolous it is frivolous in my book (and the court's)

I was waiting for this to come up. Rush the Court did their own piece about best coaching jobs in America:

That is a nice article by Dwyane though.

Which one?  Didn't she run through about eight different lawyers?

Like accusations that a university finds false and a prosecutor won't bring charges on?

I know you're being tongue-in-cheek, but I agree with your statement.  Hearsay is just that until it's either dismissed or proven to be true.  We weren't there.  We don't know.  You've got to believe with what the presiding body found to be true.

That being said, I would do whatever Gabrielle Union wanted in front of whatever family members of mine she wanted.  I would also video tape it and show it off to the court, proudly, if it were ever brought up in a case (or not) :P

Exactly. The young lady's accusations were were heard, investigated and adjudicated by Marquette University and heard, investigated and dropped by by the Milwaukee PD and DA. To all but the haters (some of them our own "fans") this is over and our guys are exonerated of the charges of sexual assault. Naturally the MPD wants jurisdiction from the get go in cases like this (isn't that what any law enforcement organization wants in virtually all cases?) and therefore stated that Marquette's adherence to long standing protocols could have been a hindrance to this and other past and future investigations. Whether a student must be forced to go to the police with this sort of complaint is a whole other debate. But suggesting there's no "closure" in this case is ridiculous. Saying that a case isn't even worthy of an indictment (we all know the phrase "a DA can get an indictment against a ham sandwich") is surely preferable to an acquittal, which would no doubt result in Chicos reminding eveyone that "not guilty" isn't the same thing as innocent. Bottom line? You can't do anything to get "closure" from the haters once an accusation has been made. So why worry about it?

Yes, it happens. I'm just saying that the relationship between Wade and Union was probably not made up. And, are you serious with that website?

No one has said their relationship was made up.  The accussations of Siohvaughn are, however, speculative at best.  A court decided the accussations to be frivolous.  It does not mean they were or were not accurate.  There is, though, a reason why Wade has custody over their Siohvaughn ...

I understand now the point you were attempting to make and certainly do not disagree, but when you lead with the argument that the lawyer must not have thought the case was frivolous, you seemed to imply that there must have been some merit to the accusations since no lawyer would ever take a case if he/she knew it was frivolous.

(And yes, I'm serious: Illinois does actually monitor its attorneys.  Believe me, I'm just as shocked as you.)

That being said, regardless of what happened in D-Wade's life as a lover, he's doing right in his life as a father (or at the very least going above and beyond the norm) and encouraging others to do the same.  Even if his agent/publicist wrote that piece, he's doing more than simply lend his name to a movement... he's actually doing something.  When it comes to testimonials, D-Wade isn't Krusty the Clown.

Skatastrophy just made it sound as if because it was ruled frivolous that it didn't happen.
