Dana O Niel at ESPN continues to track the recruiting business with update article on coming changes to the rules--even a TC quote in there:

I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

So, the Gerald P.Boyle thread gets 2100 views and 41 posts while this thread gets 158 views and one reply.  That doesn't speak well for basketball savvy-ness of this board.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

The best change may be reducing the July period to just 9 days...better allowing head coaches/coaching staff to hang around more for arrival of the new freshmen, aclimating them to campus, and cutting down on early frosh year disenchantment/transfers.
I've heard that now the complaint is they barely get to say hello, before they're off for extended intense July recruiting, and exhausted on the return.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
