I think the central recruiting turf factor is becoming, and will continue to become, less and less relevant the longer he's at MU. Buzz obviously tapped quite a bit into that region his first few years at MU because that's what he knew and that's where he's had his connections. But that's slowly changing as he builds up a cache and connections in other parts of the country.

His first recruiting class includes three Texans/players out of Texas (Fulce, Butler, Otule). His second included two (Williams, Cadougan). His third included one (Howard Crowder). His fourth includes none, so far, as does his fifth.

I think Buzz always will recruit Texas because he knows the area so well and there's so much talent there, but I'm not sure it can still be referred to as "his turf."
Agree.
"His turf" wasnt meant to connote ownership...no one owns Houston area--41 div1 players came from here last year---its just more "his" area than the more barren OK market.
I live in CY Springs (Bradley, EWilliams), and the family tree of coaches he recruits from has now been in place 10 years-- if we have another prospect in NW Houston-- he has doors open--and I am a big fan of his broadening to Calif. , and to  East coast...we need to get national to go higher.
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.
