Another question for Chicos.
« on: January 04, 2013, 10:08:07 AM »
Will we see MU basketball on National TV next year? We'll have pretty competitive team next year. Hate to miss any of the action.

When you say national tv, are you talking about network tv?  CBS, Fox, NBC, ABC?

I was wondering with no Big East TV contract next year (if we"re still in the remnants of what is the Big East) or no C7 contract what are the chances of seeing MU or any of the other schools on National TV (CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN/ABC etc.) for basketball. How would that work?

Way to early to tell.  The current Big East deal expires, I believe, after this year with ESPN and other partners (SNY, MSG, etc).  I'll have to confirm my dates.  Those contract extensions have been in a state of flux because of what is happening with the league.  Depending on when MU and the C7 depart, we may still be part of those broadcasts next year if we don't leave for 27 months, which are the terms of departure from the conference.  That being said, most think the schools will negotiate an earlier exit.  If that is the case, then the C7's new league will try to get their own television deal with various partner(s).

So, in nutshell, way too early to tell right now about tv.

Hope this all works itself out. I will be a miserable Warrior if I cannot watch them next season.
