After beating up on the tremendously weak bottom half of the conference Wisky attained the first #1 ranking in their history.  From that moment on they went 4-4 and bowed out early with a senior laden lineup!!

MU had a second team all-conference player hurt and a squad made up of mostly underclassmen.  MU can look to a bright future.

Of course, they'll forever point to that #2 (and briefly #1) poll ranking.   More like #32 than #2.

Goes to show how "valuable" the rankings really are.

I think earlier in the year when OSU and WI were 1 and 2 on this board I compared college basketball to college football with the Big Ten... they look fantastic against the other garbage in that conference, but when it comes time to play outside the conference, they don't look that hot.
