Why some of us are very disappointed by the L

For the fans in Wisconsin, all we hear is about UW.  Therefore, MU's success is all relative to the success of UW.  If UW was sucking, it wouldn't be a big deal.  The fact is, the last few years, UW has been a dominant program, and relative to their success, we are not keeping par.  For those fans from California, not subject to the UW lovefest, it wouldnt make sense.  Particularly if your MU recollection is from Dukiet years.  I guess it just depends on your frame of reference.

I live in Platteville... headquarters for the Bo Ryan lovefest... yet I still find this year a success, but thats because I look at the 200 or so other programs who didn't make the tournament, I was dissapointed, but Im not getting as drastic as some on here.

I know what you mean...it all would have been ok if UW lost to a 15 seed.  And it would really help the healing if UNLV would win tomorrow.

KJ

I said about 6 months ago that one of the reasons why MU fans are overly sensitive right now is because of Bucky's success.  I have no doubt that plays a HUGE role in all of this.

They went basically a century sucking hind teat in just about everything sans hockey and now they've had about 8 years of success in hoops and 12 in football...with the 4th highest budget in the land and a state that is starved for a winner (Bucks suck, Brewers suck, Packers not exactly cranking, UW-Madison is the defunct Pro Team in the state).  Just the way it is.

But don't let that sensitivity cloud the overall picture.  We are in the Big East, going to the NCAA tournament regularly and have a fine team coming back next year.  I don't think Bucky will go to the Final Four this year, but who knows.  That would suck, but in college basketball you never know.
