Blake Griffin sums it up pretty well:  http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6221727

The guy took over in a tough spot and turned the team around.  Then when Griffin left and he didn't make the tourney, they canned him.  Not much room for error.  Buzz better take a close look at that.  If he goes there and does not produce, he is gone.  Five years from now, he is a mercenary coach who just bounces around.

On the other hand, in 2005 MU could have listened to fans saying the same thing about Crean.  He put us in two NITs and cannot do it without Wade.  MU stood with Crean and I guarantee that MU would stay with Buzz if we had two NITs in a row.

Even if a large percentage of this board completely lost their minds.   Yeah, if the players continued to graduate and represent the school well and there appeared to be hope on the horizon, I agree that MU administration would stick with Buzz.    Especially since the margin for error in the BEast is so thin, compared to CUSA.

Did this really justify its own thread?

No kidding. Just like the other 100 threads on the same topic. Use of those.

An actual article with a perspective from an NBA star compared to some of the other random emotions that start other threads.  I'd rather discuss a player's perspective than fan's random, knee-jerk thoughts, yes.
