I agree with this logic.  If I'm Buzz's career advisor I tell him it's not the time to make a move, even if that's ultimately his goal.

OU is a risk for Buzz.  He has now seen that getting top recruits does not necessarily predict immediate success (Vander, Maymon, Junior).

I think the one thing OU would allow Buzz to do is go back to his Juco recruiting grounds which he has abandoned (7 of his last 8 recruits / commitments are 4 year guys).  At OU he could recruit nothing but Jucos and no one would say a word.

Other than that...I don't see much upside.  Buzz played Madison Square Garden 3 nights in a row last week.  It does not get much better than that.  At MU NO ONE says no to the basketball coach.  There is more fat in the basketball budget than all of Lambeau Field's spectators.  For all the draw backs you can list on MU...you can also list as many or more unique pro's.

Hmmm....  Are you thinking that Buzz is getting pressure from people to stop recruiting JUCOs here?  I'm not saying that isn't the case, but didn't Buzz say that four year high school players are preferable to JUCOs or something like that?  Maybe he just used the JUCOs to round out a couple classes and now he doesn't need to take JUCOs if he doesn't want them.

I would think Buzz enjoyed the option, and it was clear at my that 4 years were preferred.

Why would anyone care about us recruiting JUCO's? If they are quality kids and good students it really does not matter. Highly doubt the ability of recruiting JUCO's will have much to do with decision to stay or leave. Would think and extra mil a year that football school might have more bearing.

It still sounds like a bunch of people sitting around and saying since Buzz went to school close to here, then he would probably like to coach here.  Its the same stuff people were saying about Bennett wanting to be here.

I finally had a chance to watch this.  Hoops statement was exactly what I took from it.  (The story title on the website should have had a ? on it to boot.)  And they often repeated approximately that, "we have no idea if he even wants to coach here or is at all interested."  They were complementive of Buzz.
