My friend from Colorado called me and his first friendly jab was: "I'm pissed at you because your alma mater got a spot Colorado should have gotten."  After scratching my head, I proceeded to tell him MU wasn't one of the last four in.  Those teams are playing in Dayton.  He said he knew ESPN was talking about VCU and UAB being unworthy but how could they really give bids to 11 BE teams.  I fired back some general stats about how tough the conference is.  Any of you stat guys have some more ammo for me?  It's great to get your buddies all worked up!  March madness is here!

Of our 14 losses, only 2 came to teams outside the top 35 RPI. None of our losses were to teams outside the top 100. Only one loss came to a team not in the field of 68. We have 5 wins over teams in the top 25 RPI. Also, we played a non-con schedule that was much better than 325.

While Colorado deserved to be in, it wasn't at our expense.

If he wants to make that argument, make sure he's just as upset about Penn St & MSU (& Illinois & Michigan) being included.  7/11 isn't that much different than 11/16.  9-9 in the Big 10 is not nearly the accomplishment 9-9 in the Big East is this year or any year.

Say something like "if Colorado wants the committee's attention, they should play in a major conference."

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
