Watching Duke ... ESPN says Duke is 2 and 3 in the their last 5 senior nights and struggling tonight against a horrible Clemson team.

Can someone please explain to me why we hold senior night after the game?  when it seems like every other team in the country does it before the game.  we should give these seniors the honor they deserve, but after a game like that no one wants to stick around.  not saying that before the game would draw a bigger crowd since the BC was a ghost town till a minute after tip off, but at least the fans that are there would be in a better mood for the seniors.

btw, a good portion of our "fans" are awful.  show up late, boo, then leave early.  yep, that's good spirit when the team needs it most.

Actually, I think the post-game ceremony is becoming the norm.  I think Duke did theirs post game.  Coaches don't want to mess with the pre-game routine.

I'm all for a change.  It's too painful after a loss, especially when 80% of the stadium disrespectfully exits.

I remember when I was a student, I was always pissed off at the "alumni" because they showed so little spirit, sat on their hands, etc.  Maybe season tickets should come with manditory hormone treatments.

+1.   win the game and they'll stay to honor the seniors.  human nature to not want to be associated with the loss.

MU is the easiest team to scout. Period. We didn't change out tempo, or our playing once during the entire game. WTF?

That, to me, is the most frustrating thing with this team/coach. I could see the trainwreck coming 5 minutes into the game, and NOTHING CHANGED.

I can tell you the reason why it wasn't done prior to tip off the years I was there....timing.  The coaches wanted the ability to have the players talk, interact with the fans, etc.  They also felt if they did it prior to the game, people would be milling in the stands trying to get to their seats, to much commotion, etc.   The thought was that you win your Senior night, the fans will stick around for 20 minutes after the game to honor the team and have a free form (semi-scripted actually) event.

Because most games are televised, if you do it prior to tip off, the only thing you can really do is have the player come out with his parents, very limited interaction, etc because the other team is there ready to play.  It would mean a dramatic toning down of the event which they didn't want to do.

To be honest, last night I was more impressed with the student section than the alums....whenever the place got real loud it was spurred by the students.

It was an unfortunate game though,  the place wanted to erupt at points but Cincy would always come up with the timely baskets.

MU got pushed around last night and didn't respond back with an inspired effort.  Cincy's length on d caused problems.

When you're involved in those actual ceremonies to the nth detail, you remember them.  Getting the videos together of each player, scripting the timing, putting together the announcer's script, contacting the families, making sure Father Wild knows what he's going to say, etc, etc.

Trying to remember who the hell we played last year in the last game of the season...please.  No comparison.
