Great game by JFB!
Had to have this game. Did not get it. Let's face it Sportsfans, we are only about the 10th best team in our conference. How do we lose at home to Cincy?

2008-09 12-6
2009-10 11-7
2010-11 9-9(book it)
Going in the wrong direction. We are not very good. Oh well--there is always next year.

Good god you are a bitter ugly old man.

Cinci is a good basketball team that played us well on D. Definitely disappointed that we didn't get more from the rest of the team but to say we are not any good and wait for next year??? With all due respect.....F you.

Thats right--if you vannot argue the facts, call names.

Cadougan and Blue looked good in the second half.   Beyond that.......    DJO needs to play every game and every posession like he thinks he is the man.   Having our best 3 pt shooter refusing to shoot down the stretch because there was a defender within 6 ft is another recurring theme that I hope is fixed by next year.

Real classy.

And, whether you like it or not, WW is right.  That was a shameful effort from most of the team and Buzz.  You would have been cussing out a whole lot of people at the Bradley Center last night because there was a ton of griping going on after that game.  BTW, I'm not sure the students buy into Buzz at all.  The most vitriolic comments were coming from them.

We screwed the pooch, plain and simple.  With all due respect, face the facts, this wasn't PC and we played like it was.

It's a loss... nobody knows wtf is going to happen in the coming weeks, so those freakin' out that we are still on the bubble should just chill because nobody knows what's going to happen at Seton Hall and in the BEast tourney or what the committee actually thinks of us.

People are freaking out because they see needlessly lost opportunities that would have preempted us from being a bubble team.

Glad to see you've stopped posting your patently false 11-7, 10-8, 9-9 (book it!) trend.  At least it's a start.

What would you have said about this three year stretch from Villanova:

2005-05 14-2 (The last year of their Foye/Ray/Lowry big three guards)
2006-07 9-7
2007-08 9-9

Probably something really clever along the lines of "In Jay we trust: Marquette Meltdown" since they lost to us at home in '07-'08 to drop to 7-9 in conference.  Then you would have posted a lot of "HMMMMMMMM we're back to being perennially at the bottom half of the Big East I guess 'nuff said but in Jay we trust right 7-11 book it LOLZ."

They finished 9-9, won a BE tourney game, got a good draw and went on to the sweet 16 that year while fans like you were off huffing paint or something because they already gave up on the season and the program.  The next three years were followed by:

2008-09 13-5
2009-10 13-5
2010-11 9-9 (book it)

If you can't understand that college hoops goes in cycles, then I don't know if it's possible to have a rational conversation with you.  About anything.  If 9-9 (or 10-8 book it) in the best conference in the country is your down year the program's in pretty good shape.  The hyperbolic doom and gloom you spout after every loss is extremely short-sighted and generally not very well thought out.

willie warrior

I really do not care about Villanova's trend. I care about what we are doing. We are going in the wrong direction with all Buzz's guys. I do not care about the excuses "well they are all Jucos" or "Very few of them have D1 minutes" etc.
The trend is we are going in the wrong direction. St. Johns and Cincy have now leapfrogged us in the BEast pecking order. Villanova is usually more well regarded than we are. We are about the 10th best team in the BEast---you can be happy with that--I am not. We can and should do better. Next year should show much improvement, and if not, then serious questions should be asked. Hell they should be asked already.
I am not calling to fire Buzz, but we better get rolling here on improving, and I am not seeing it now. Where will we get JFB's 16 points per game? Not from any freshman coming in! I like the improvement of Otule and Cadougan, but we should also question Buzz's rotations and starting line ups and how that can destroy confidence Jerking people on one mistake, starting EWill over Crowder, starting Smith for 2 minutes, etc.

Where do you see improvement this year over the last two years that have advanced us futher into the league? And the league, although the best in the country IMO, is not as strong as past two years.

The scary part is who replaces Butler? The loss of Lazar was really felt by this years team. Crowder, while at times looking good, is no Lazar. I do not see anyone on the current roster filling Jimmy's shoes.

Jamil Wilson has to be the great hope there.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Jimmy Butler averaged 5.6 ppg in his 1st year.
Lazar Hayward averaged 6.6 ppg as a Freshman.

I'm just saying...
