This actualy makes me feel better. Still am wondering how this team has 9 losses, including their bad losses. On a side note, I realize they have a good recruiting class coming in but how good will SJU bd next year with 9 seniors leaving. We know how valuable experience can be.

Do you feel any better realizing that we lost to a worthy opponent? They were worthy before this win.

I know the boo birds are going to say they were booing because our guys weren't making an effort. Is it possible that we were gassed on our third game in a week, after two on the road, and that STJ is just the better team this year?

People didn't boo because they lost. They booed because there was a discernible lack of desperation down the stretch in an absolute must win situation. A complete 180 degrees from what WVU put out on the court today -- pure heart, heave, and hustle.

And why in the world would the team suddenly be "gassed" during the St. John's game? They had a five day break, played South Florida on a Wednesday, had a three day break, then played one half against Georgetown on Sunday and were in their own beds Sunday night.

Certainly seemed to do fine earlier in the season when they had road games on a Wednesday and Saturday before playing at home on a Monday.

RE: "absolute must win": certainly more downside to losing than upside to winning that game, but even after having lost it, most still have us in the Dance.

3 games in a week, with two on the road, early in the season is different than 3 games in a week, with two on the road, 3/4 of the way through the season. I'd venture a guess the guys are a little more tired now than they were 6 weeks ago.

I flat out  said in my original post that I know the boo birds weren't booing at the loss.
I'm not interested in a pissing match over how much effort the team did or did not display on Tuesday night. I just don't think the fans should boo their team on the home court at all, let alone when we're losing to a decent team.

Boone

St. Johns was playing their 2nd consecutive road game and came into the contest with the same amount of rest that we had.

Great posts DaCoach and Avalanche -I agree with your points regarding comparing SJU/MU vs. today's Pitt game as well as possible explanations for the booing or the notion that MU players were tired.

Please stop the sarcastic posts about traditional players, coaching, free throws, timeouts etc... it is beyond tiresome.

Yes, MU has played a tough conference schedule but so do all the other teams in the Big East.

The bubble is soft this year but sooner or later we need stop making excuses and actually beat someone.

This is a must win as we cannot afford to lose another home game. Let's get it done!
