Jimmy is having a nice season.  He is shooting 49.6% from the field.  Against SJU, he was 9-13 while taking tough shots with defense on him.

He needs to go down (if they are going to go down) with guns blazing.  I honestly think he has pro potential given his size, mid-range game and toughness.  He has always been very efficient.  However, he does not assert himself.

I think he needs an Allen Iverson volume of shots.  It's time to rally around him.  We don't need Blue or Buycks over dribbling with the shotclock winding down.  If Jimmy can get a fall-away mid-range jumper with 15 secs on the shot clock, he needs to take it.  He is a senior.  No more messing around.  On this team right now, that is a higher percentage shot than the team will likely get as they swing the ball.

Someone needs to go out there and grab games.  If he does that, the rest of the team may gain confidence.  We need our leader to step up.  Jimmy should get 20-25 shots up IMO.

I'd love to see him grab the reigns also.  But I'm not sure that's in his personality.  Someone certainly needs to start demanding excellence on the floor, because right now they all appear to be looking for the next guy to deliver.

He just has to understand that a tough shot from him is better than Buycks, Blue, or Cadougan trying to create a shot with the clock winding down.  Those three guys' turnovers tend to lead to easy buckets for the other team as well.  They can't be put in spots where they have to deliver all game.

To a degree, it is selfish of him not to shoot more.

Not sure to the extent quoted above, but in general, I agree. I have been thinking on several occasions this season he is too willing to defer and be a team player. Frankly, at this point with confidence levels seeming to be way down, our offensive options are pretty limited. Buycks, Cadougan, Vander are not scoring threats right now, and Otule is obviously not a go to guy in the post despite how well he's been playing. Pretty much leaves us with JFB, Jae and DJO (when on) as real scoring threats of the guys that regularly play. Fulce has been shooting well, but he only gets limited looks. I think Davante could easily avg 15 pts a game if he could stay on the court long enough (whether due to fouls or fatigue), but that isn't happening right now. As a result of the above, it does make sense for JFB to be a little more assertive offensively and take it when he can get a decent look.
