At least beat an upper echelon team in the BET in order to get a marquee/road neutral win on our resume to make the tourney. And of course we are going to have to win the rest of our home games.

WQe won't beat UCONN the way we have been playing.

Any other year, yes.

This year, I am not so sure.

I'll be there at the game (God willing if my meetings in NYC that day get done in a timely fashion).  That would be a huge win, but it's tough seeing us pull that off.

Is tough for you to see us pull off a win against an unknown BE team? What if we run into UL or ND?

cheebs09

We go 4-2 the rest of the year and I think we are fine, even if we lose at UCONN. I think people are overestimating some of the resumes of the Bubble teams out there.

Unknown?  Not sure I understand what you mean by that.

I don't see us pulling it off because we lost to them on our home court already and we have no wins on the road this year at all sans a 300 foot walk across the street to play UW-hyphen Milwaukee where we barely held on to win.   I'll be cheering wildly for the Warriors, but I don't see us winning that game because of those circumstances and our play this year on the road.

TallTitan34

He's saying we can still get a quality win against a team in the Big East tournament.  Unless you know who we are playing they are unknown.

Are you talking about UConn or the BE tournament? Read like you were talking tourny.

Sure, but let's look at the teams from the last few years in any major conference that has had to rely on a "run in their conference tournament" to get in.  Been plenty of disappointment even with some teams grabbing a win or two.

Right now we are tied for 10th place with Cincinnati.  So we're either in 10th or 11th as far as seedings go.

If we finish 11th, we would play Providence (if tournament was held today).  If we finish 10th, we would play South Florida who we beat by 1 point 4 days ago.  Either way, does a win over either of those teams do anything for us?

What's worse, if you win as the 10th or 11th seed, you play either 6 or 7....St. John's is tied right now for one of those two seeds.

We don't have to beat UConn.

We have to sweep Seton Hall and beat Providence, St. Johns, and Cincy.  That brings us to 11-7 in conference play.  With the soft bubble, expanded tournament, and fewer tournament-worthy teams in most other conferences, that would be more than enough.

First, I'm shocked you brought up the UWM game, again.

Please take some video of yourself cheering wildy. I don't think you've supported this team wildly since 4/1/2008.

I'll be at the UCONN game....at NYC for meetings buy will be driving up to Hartford.  Sorry for the confusion, that's my fault for not stating I would be heading over to Hartford.  My fault.

You're right, that's why I spend $1000's of dollars each year to travel to watch this team play because I don't support them.  ::)  I'm going to UCONN game hoping we lose.

Good grief dude, what is wrong with you?

Which has nothing to do with UConn.

Guess you missed the Rutgers game and the South Florida game.

brewcity77

We need to be UConn or what? We miss the tourney? That's simply laughable and ignorant of the state of college basketball. If we go 11-7 in the conference, we are a lock. If we go 10-8, we're probably still a lock. If we go 9-9 and win 2 in the Big East tournament, we most likely still get in.

The truth is that the bubble is soft. The bubble is incredibly weak. Before you say we're out, go out there and find all the at large teams that you think are deservedly ahead of us, assuming we lose the UConn game. The Big East is definitely going to place 10 this year. The Big East is most likely going to place 11. If the ACC, SEC, Big 10, and PAC-10 were going to place an average of 5-6 teams, you'd be right. But looking at the numbers, those conferences probably place a combined total of 12 teams that would definitely be ahead of us, even if we lose to UConn.

UConn would be a nice feather in the cap, possibly get us into the 5-6 seed range if we win the rest of our games (excluding the BEast tourney) but we'll still be well in line for a 7-10 seed even if we lose that game.

Jacks DC

UConn is the only currently ranked team left on our schedule.  If we lose there and win the others we will be 11-7 and that gets us in easily.  Fortunately the two other toughest games, Cincy and St. John's, are also at home.

Especially since I'll be cheering for UCONN, wildly (is that the correct term MarqPTM..."wildly")?

Yes, that is the correct term, unless you're the outgoing president. Then, it is spelled "wilde-ly," I believe.
