Lost 6 of their last 8, have two kenpom top 25 wins, and have a pretty weak out of conference schedule.  This team does not deserve to be ranked, and if you were to take away the syracuse name, this would easily be a bubble team.

Welcome to the 2010-11 college basketball season.  Not a lot of good deserving teams and probably the main reason why we are in the NCAA tourny in a lot of mock projections.

I look at Temple, North Carolina, Texas A&M and what have they done to deserve being ranked.

Also four of the Cuse's 6 losses that you mention are against other ranked teams (Pittsburgh, Villanova, Georgetown, Louisville).  The nature of the Beast playing in the Big East is that everyone has to go through a gauntlet run where you are facing some very good teams night in and night out.

It's going to be interesting to see who fades in the BEast down the stretch.  I really feel like MU is in decent shape as we have a schedule that positions us to succeed.  4-3 is very realistic.  And some others likely won't achieve that in their final seven games. Of the current 6-5 teams, I see as many or more wins for us than WVU, Cinn, or possibly UConn.
