Said it worked tonight and in the second half of 'nova.  He said he thinking that we need to play more of this "Helter Skelter" pressing.

I agree

I do like when we use it, but if it's going to be a game long thing, need to have more bodies to sub in and out and it sounds like he doesn't have the confidence in Melo or Ewill for that yet. Playing press for 40 minutes with 7.5 guys is just not feasible.

Right, and that's why MU went what 0-8 from the FT line down the strecth. It's called tired legs. Not enough horses to press for 40 minutes. Not even close.

I doubt Buzz is considering full time press. Definitely not a deep enough bench. When things start to go downhill defensively, though, I hope to see it more frequently. You've got to break up those runs with more than timeout after timeout.

I think it had a lot more to do with tight sphincters than tired legs.

Beat me to it.  It's mental/psychological...it's not physical.

sgurgs

i agree it's mental, but there's a mentality to playing helter skelter too, and that isn't that you're too tired, but too pumped up.

it's not an excuse for missing, but they might have been too wired.

That's an interesting way to look at it.

I don't know what it is.  Hopefully it was an anomaly.

I did think Buzz was saying 40 minutes a game.  Rather he was suggesting it would be used more frequently and earlier in the game (not just the second half when down like the last two games).
