Chad Ford reports that teams are calling Portland about Wes:  http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/36925

(It's about 20% of the way down, easiest to just search for his name)

I thought I remember his contract being front loaded for this year, so Wes is likely very reasonably priced for his production.  I am sure Portland values him so who knows how much they are interested in the requests.

He'd sure be a nice piece in Chicago or OKC right next to two young scoring PGs.  I heard Boston was looking for a defensive wing off the bench with Kobe/Wade/Lebron/Manu in their way.  Maybe Utah wants him back.

After Novak moved to a contender, it'd be nice to see Wes moved to a 2nd/3rd round caliber team as well.

PGsHeroes32

That would be awesome. I cant help but look at how good Utah would be with Wes right now.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I don't see Portland trading Wes....I don't want him on any team like Boston or Chicago anyway.

BrewCity83

I'm happier if he stays put and gets to start every game.  Who knows how much PT he would get on a "contender".

He'd start on OKC or Chicago.  He'd be the first wing off the bench for Boston.  Not sure if he'd fit on LAL or Miami, and he does not fit what Orlando, NYK, or Atlanta do.  He'd be in the rotation in Dallas or San Antonio too.

It'd have to be the right situation, but he could start on or be a key factor on a playoff team.

That being said, he is perfect in Portland and itd be tough for him to be traded.

Keep in mind that Roy is coming back soon.

Yeah, but which Roy?  The Roy that was playing hurt and more of a spot shooter that we saw all year?  Or the slasher game-changing Roy that the Blazers need?

Wesley in a Bulls uniform would make me and Derrick Rose very happy.

TallTitan34

I'd have to buy a new Bulls jersey if wes goes to Chicago.

The bulls desperately need a SG, and I think Wes can fit into that spot

Yup, I thought I read a annual breakdown somewhere, but it's a five-year, $34 million contract with $9.2 million in his first year alone ($4.6 in salary, $1.2 million up front, and a $5.6 million signing bonus).

So the other 4 years, he'll be making an average of ~6.2MM - still not chump change.

When is "soon" (for fantasy basketball purposes :) )

Roy says he'll be back this weekend.
Nate McMillan says "slow down, big fella."

Gotta wonder whether Wes' performance has Roy pushing his comeback.

Wow.  That is actually a pretty decent amount of money.  Not an easy trade to make, but doable.

Still a cool jersey no matter what.

I made the same mistake with a Marty Booker jersey after his 100+ reception year with the Bears...bought his jersey, a few months later he was in Miami...

Hindsight can be a real bitch!

Don't worry. Someday it'll be a classic throwback jersey.

Roy's trash. His knees are trash, his game is down...Blazers just want to play him as showcased trade bait.

I'd still buy a Wes Blazer Jersey (not replica though). Still missing Diener's #12 Blazer jersey. ;)

I highly doubt the blazers trade Matthews, but he sure would look good in a bulls uniform playing next to Rose.  Wes is exactley what the bulls need at the 2, a defensive stopper and a guy who can make 3's and score to take the preasure off Rose.

MUMBA

did anyone see the promotion on Portland's website today?  Season ticket holders get a Wesley Matthews "Three-Goggles" bobblehead when they renew for next season.  I usually troll ebay looking for vintage Marty Booker jerseys, but this development gives me a new reason.

Even NBA GMs are not foolish enough to trade for Roy with his contract and without his knees.
Also, Roy is not playing this weekend.
