If we can somehow find a way to win them we'll be in good shape, but that will obviously be very tough of course.

madtownwarrior

really?  no chance.

MU has never beat Syracuse and Syracuse will be coming in with a chip on their shoulder after losing three straight and a blow-out at home to MU.  I predict a close loase after holding a 5 - 8 pt lead with 5 minutes to go.

Win at Villanova - no chance - see road games at Vandy, Louisville, Notre Dame, Louisville as examples...

Norm

Yep, Syracuse and Villanova are both good teams that MU does not match up well against. It will be very difficult to win even one of those games. I don't think we'll pull either game out.

Cuse has been playing with out Joesph

Seton Hall beat Syracuse by 22 tonight...Am I missing something?

Boone

They'll bring their "A" game against us. We're the kind of team that slumping schools use to get well against.

They fell asleep against SH. DO NOT expect a boeheim team to be asleep Saturday in Mke.

MauraDay

I think we lose the next two, but the rest of the schedule is very winnable, with the exception probably being at UConn.

So you were expecting them to be asleep last night then? You make absolutely no sense with that post.

Clam Crowder

Let's just give up on the next 2 games without even playing them. That seems pretty smart. We give UCONN a run for their money, and we could certainly beat Syracuse. No need for everyone to already be giving up

SH entered the game 2-6 in conference, 8-12 on the season. Cuse was not expecting to be challenged. Does that help you understand???

Joseph only missed the Pitt game. He was back for the Nova and Hall losses.

Cuse will be hot and has won in Milwaukee. Not the team you want to face at this point in time.

As for later, I actually think they'll get two of three on the road and then win the rest of the schedule excluding @ UConn.

Achingly for us, they'll likely finish 10-8 and with no non-conference wins get edged out by the media darling SJU or Cincy with their cupcake inflated overall record.

Right now, it's possible the ACC only 4 bids, with bubble teams like Maryland (expected RPI 66) and Virginia Tech (70) hoping to scrape their way in. The Big 10 and Big 12 look good for 6 apiece, but unlikely much more than that. The PAC 10 is only looking at 2 bids right now, unless UCLA or Wazoo can get hot, in which case they'll likely get 3 at most. And the SEC is probably looking at 4 teams.

Excepting the two expected successful conferences, that is giving the ACC, SEC, and PAC-10 a total of ten bids. Those leagues would probably be expected to put out an average of 15 teams. That leaves 5 extra bids, plus the three extra spots. Looking at projected RPI, we're still probably going to finish in the top 60. Even if we finish 10-8 in the Big East, we'll have a good shot of getting into the tournament as the 10th or 11th team out of the Big East simply because the conference is so strong that our RPI will be decent regardless. With the soft bubble, it wouldn't surprise me if every Big East team that went 9-9 or better made the tournament. It's just that kind of year.

+1.    It is not too late to get in to the tournament as some of the other conferences are really down this year.   BEast will get minimum 8 teams and maybe even 9 or 10 given the increased bids, the rpi our teams get from just playing against eachother, and the down years in teh Pac 10, ACC and SEC.    But, we need to take care of business....now.

How can the vandy and lville games be sited as proff that we CAN'T win a tough road game.  Those games were one point losses.  Nd was losing every road game by double digits until they walked into pitt and won.

Oh I see. After beating SH by the skin of their teeth a couple weeks ago, they figured they had a cake walk ahead of them this time around. After losing 2 straight, they weren't hungry for a win, but they will be Saturday. When they beat Providence, SJU, and CIN along with every cupcake on their schedule, they were expecting to be challenged.

I'm not saying they aren't good, because I think they are, but a look up and down their schedule doesn't exactly scream quality. They have exactly one road win against SJU. It may end up there, but I see nothing to indicate that this game is already in the loss column, and certainly not because they're going to come in here more angry and focused then they otherwise would be. Had they beaten SH, would you predicting an MU win? Of course that would be equally ridiculous.

This is another refrain we are beginning to hear a lot of: "good teams MU does not match up well with"--Meaning UConn, Syracuse, Villanova, Pitt, Louisville, georgetown, etc.
When we will have a good matchup--oh, I forgot--Centenary!
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

I would not predict a win either way. cuse zone will bother us and they will win the game.

I'd sign for 5-5 after these next 2 games .... 4-6 would be tough to recover from
