You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

They couldn't shoot the 3 either.  That was my only nit to pick tonight, still way too many wide open 3's but we got away with it tonight.  Bilas and Raftery were saying it much of the game as well.  We were living right tonight in that aspect of the game.

Always great to blowout Notre Dame.

Big Papi

Yes there were some wide open 3s but I think Buzz's gameplan was for others taking the 3s as long as it wasn't Hansburough(sp) and Abromitis and to double down on Nash whenever he got the ball.  So is it bad 3 point defense or good scouting and gameplanning?  Crean would entice bad perimeter shooters to take open 3s and I think Buzz might have done the same here.  He go Martin and Atkins to take the majority of the 3s.  I think the defense overall was good.

Yes, we got away with a solid win becuz ND could not hit the side of a barn.  However, we also lost to PITT becuz they could not miss that night.

Why double down on Nash?  No need as the guy is not going to hurt you.

Good point mufanatic and the stats support it. Did Buzz mention that on the post-game show? I too thought ND had a lot of open looks from three but I wasn't paying attention to who the shooter was.

I agree with that--doubling down only works if the rotating man comes through. There were several times when that did not happen

A win against ND is always great.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

+1 - Those that said that Pitt could have beaten Duke the night we played them would have to agree that ND couldn't beat UWM the night we played them.

I think they realized that by the end of the first half and your statement proved true as they didn't do it nearly as much in the second half.

I would LOVE for Gardner to develope into a "Nash" type guy. Comfortable with double team, good kick outs, plays strong down low...

(although Nash does seem a little more athletically gifted)
The "average fan" is an idiot.

I'd love to see Gardner develop into a Steve Nash type of player. Now THAT would be awesome  ;D
