Jamil Wilson is big.  Hope he can play.   DG is going to be a stud.   Not yet.       We are going to need minutes from Fulce, probably 10+ going forward.   Blue is looking like a freshman.   A talented freshman, but still unsure when to double team.    As soon as Cadougan hits a jumper, look out.     Otule understands how to post up.   I am unsure what his ceiling is thanks to his eye, but I can't fault the effort.     Jae throws up one scud 3 pt'er a game.  DJO channels Jerel on the drive.  JJ gets in at garbage time and immediately gets beat off of the dribble and jacks up a 3.     If Frozena gets the steal and finishes with a dunk, the roof of the BC would have come off.  Couldn't help it, every time ND shot a 3, I mentally counted it as good as soon as it left their hand.

Jamil last year came out hot against non-conference opponents.  During conference season he struggled to score and his minutes slowly decreased and had a couple DNPs toward the end of the year.  He ended up not shooting all that well, but he did rebound well.  I think if he can pick up the scoring he'll fill JFB's role nicely.

I did the same thing with ND's threes. Our defense was solid at times, but I am not gonna fool myself into thinking that that was not just an awful shooting night but ND

+1  But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because at least we kept the best 3 point shooters from getting many open looks.

Agree totally.  ND had plenty of decent shots, they just missed them.  In watching our defense it is clear that we are capable of playing good D, we just seem to lose focus.  Seems that if the opposing team passes the ball around enough someone will eventually get caught not guarding their man.  To often the guys seem to watch the ball and forget their man might move without it.

Indeed, in their previous five games outside the confines of Purcell Pavilion, the Irish shot 37.7 percent combined. And once again Monday, Notre Dame nosedived, firing at a ragged 39.6 percent clip.

But in surviving the earlier games, the difference was reliable defense that camouflaged the blemishes. This time, though, the Golden Eagles hit 65.2 percent in the second half and drained 12 of 17 from long distance — after hitting just 35 percent from 3-point range to date.

"For a team that can't shoot," Marquette coach Buzz Williams said, "to shoot 70 percent from 3, that helps."
