Forgive me if this was already posted earlier this week

I agree with Buzz's comments, I think Crowder is the emotional leader on this team.  Nothing against Jimmy, because I really like Jimmy's game and the way he carries himself.  Butler is just more of a quiet guy, business like approach.

Buzz found a good one in Crowder.

Great article.  The more these guys get opportunities to speak, the more I like them.

Side question:  Does anyone know if Shannon Ryan is an MU Alum?  I thought Skip Myslenski (former Tribune) was, as the volume of articles about MU declined after he left.  Ryan seems to have a few under her belt already this year.

It's possible that she is an alum, but she worked for the Philly Inquirer for 7 years before joining the Tribune in 2007 (I'm not a creep, just looked it up).

I would say that the frequency (or lack thereof) of MU stories in the Trib has a TON more to do with the Tribune budget to send a reporter to Milwaukee than it does with any MU alum. However on a related note, Dan McGrath, who used to be the sports editor at the Tribune until maybe two years ago WAS an MU alum...so I dunno.

Shannon Ryan sounds like a girl that could have gone to MU though.

Dan McGrath was the reason for the coverage the Tribune gave Marquette over the years.

This article on Jae was only on the interent, not in the paper itself.

It is in Today's Tribune. Nice article.

Absolutely shocking and encouraging that Buzz gets the inside (and apparently only) lead on these guys - JFB, DJO, and now Jae all turning out to be thouroughly impressive players and NO ONE ELSE EVEN KNOWS ABOUT THEM!!!!  Great backstory about Jae and really shows a great side to recruiting other than the over hyped 13+ year olds that think they rule your school when they finally get there.  GO MARQ!!!!

Stretchdeltsig

Great article.  Crowder looks like he will be a great leader for Marquette based on his passion, intensity and complete game.  Jimmy Butler is a complete player but quiet; that leaves Jay the leader role.  Go Marquette!

I forgot about McGrath.  Thanks for the reminder.

Found this in the Chicago Tribune today, nice little write up. Hope it hasn't been posted yet

How does this get posted?  Did you not read any of the thread ZaLiN?  Or did you post it somewhere else and the mods moved it here?  I'm just baffled as to how the entire thread is about the Tribune article and someone even posted that it was in today's paper and then this.  Clear that up for me won't you?

ZaLiN posted it, so I merged it onto the old thread to "bump" the old thread.

Thank you sir.  Good to know someone wasn't that daft as to post it in the same thread.

No sir, Marquette has taught me better than that.
