How does he get this team to turn around? He better start planning for the Vandy game because that could make or break the season.

For starters:

1) Stop with the over subsituations - this team has no flow because guys (outside of butler) are in there for 1/2 at a time.

2) Find a PG and stick with him - if Jr can't play from media TO to media To as buzz stated then he needs to sit

3) Play the big guys more - I know that Otule and Gardner need to be in the game for their paint touches and rebounding. Otule played 7 min against UW but when he was in there he alter shots and actually played good D on Leuer.  Big Burger (Gardner) has proven to be one of our top offensive threats.

I especially watched Jr. in the UW game. He can play from timeout to timeout and more. His d is not as bad as Buzz makes it out either. Buzz claims that he plays 9 feet off his man when pressing. It is more like 6 feet.

For some reason, Buzz does not think he is "tough" enough. Not Buying that. If that is the case then Butler is not tough enough either, and Otule because you can find as many dsefense lapses on them also.

I agree with your other two points.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Regarding point #1,  I think statistically and otherwise, you will find Marquette does not substitute more or less than most teams that have depth.  It has already been statistically proven that both Duke and Wisconsin did more "stints" of substitution than we did yet they won against us.

Don't necessarily disagree with your point #2.  Although Buzz keeps on stating than Cadougan is not yet ready to play major minutes... I have to trust that he knows his players better than us.

Completely agree with #3.  When teams have legit centers we need to play Otule/Gardner for at least 30 minutes every game, if not more.  It is painful watching Jimmy/Jae guard good post players and try to get defensive rebs against them.  We miss Fulce more than people like to admit

The team is very young. All you have to do is look at what happen to other Big East teams with young players. We were picked 10th or 11th in the conference for a reason. I expected us to go 9-4 in nomn-conference and we are exactly were I expected. We are going to take a beating in the conference, but that will turn around next year and the year after.

Everyone seems to have a problem with Reggie lately because he's starting. If he's working the hardest the practice I don't mind seeing him out there to start. If you look at how he did in the madison game the first possession he fed otule with a great pass but he couldn't scoop it up. He took a charge against a player that "we will have a hard time defending" and harassed on defense. In the second half he held his guy scoreless again I believe and he helped force the steal that Jamail got when he was in there. Sure he picked up a traveling call but that's gonna happen to a freshman that's trying to learn the PG position. Buzz is a defensive minded coach so it only makes sense to start your best defensive PG to set the tone. People keep mentioning how we're giving up points with Reggie in there but it's quite the opposite.

If you look at the Madison game while Reggie was in for 6 minutes and 17 seconds the Badgers scored 4 points. I'll take that defense for 10-15 any day even if it results in a travel or two. Not to mention he's got a silky smooth jumper from about 15 feet on in.

GGGG

Reggie had three turnovers in six minutes. He isn't really ready.

Rewatch the game. I only see one turnover that is his fault.

This isn't peewee basketball where everyone gets to play and we don't keep score. The idea that we should be rewarding people with starting positions by how hard they practice and how "tough" they are is ridiculous. You should be playing your best players. This is one of those buzzisms that is cute during winning times but will wear thin fast if we start finishing between 8th-12th in the big east a few years in a row.

Also getting tired of Buzz being nicey-nice and playing footy with UWM and UW in press conferences. I understand being civil but we shouldn't even be playing UWM; and UW is our hated rival, no need to say nice things about them. I liked when we ran up the score on UWM under Crean.
