Pinkston, who cannot take classes in the spring, will retain his eligibility since the suspension is a university sanction and not an NCAA penalty. He can return to Villanova in the summer as a redshirt freshman, with four years left to play.

Hadn't played yet this year, so looks like the redshirt was staying on anyway.  If he were a regular contributor I wonder how severe it would have been?

I think they were expecting him to contribute, but the incident happened before Nova played any games.

Wonder how him missing spring classes affects their APR.

More on the story...apparently he punched two frat boys in the face.  I have a tough time understanding what is so objectionable about that.
