You don't need me to tell you, but Cube's three with 2+ minutes to go to put us up 7 was HUGE.  We were staggered at that point and that saved us.

Hobbes:  What's misunderstood about you?
Calvin:  Nobody thinks I'm a genius.

Absolutely,  I was at the game with my 3 daughters, when we went from 57-40 to  57-46 I think I told my 12 year old I had a bad feeling.  As it got closer, the 10 year old and 12 year old started yelling at me to stop "feeling" that way.  When DC hit that 3 I told the 12 year old, that does it, now we will pull it out.  Glad they proved my right for a change.  Hughe sigh of relief by all 3 of us hit that went down.  !!!!!!

Add with that to make a key stretch was Hayward's rebound and timeout call near the baseline.

ultimate

That was a huge rebound by Hayward...but was it smart to burn our last timeout when we had the possession aarow at that point?

Another very big play was the steal and quick outlet to LAzar for the bunny layup.  We were really struggling to score without DJ in the lineup and a turnover and easy bucket really helped.  I had visions of the Louisville game and Lazar's travel but he got it done this time.

Buzz Williams' Spillproof Chiclets Cup

Before the game on hearing of Jerel's injury, I was in agreement with the rest of my season ticket group of, "We're f***ed." We all believed that we needed Jerel to even have a chance.

My girlfriend who was joining us that night countered with a simple "Nuh-uh. You never know who is going to step up and have a great game. (Mike Kinsella? Seriously? Are you kidding me?) You just have to have a little blind faith."

I told her "Alright, I'll buy into your blind faith here and call the upset." When we were up by 17 she started elbowing me. I'm never gonna live that one down, although it's not so bad. When I was watching the game intently from my upperdeck seats, she (who's still a senior) was making noise when we were on defense. It was fantastic. She's a keeper.

I knew w/ Jerel out we (the student section...and everyone else) were gonna have to help the home court advantage out as much as possible...and that someone was gonna have to step up. Cuby played great and Wesley had another solid game too...it seemed like everyone who got minutes used them to the best of their ability to step up and fill the void. I can honestly say that w/ the PT our frosh get, Lazar and Cube really aren't freshman anymore, they've both shown they can step up and play in the clutch and I think these two will be huge to us doing well in the post season.

I, for one, was overjoyed to see TC finally take advantage of what Mike Kinsella has to offer.

It will be interesting to see how well Lazar and Cubillan play in the BE tournament.  I hope they are able to play as well on the road as they have at home, especially now with Jerel out.  I'm particularly interested in Lazar as I thought he played great at home against Nova, but was small against ND.

I don't think of the BE tourney as a true road game. MU will have pretty decent support at the Garden.

Support-wise sure MU will have a presence. However, the "road" attribute is used because they are playing the Johnnies on their home court. Only MU will face this dilemma.

Wes Matthews played incredible.  I believe he will be a superstar.
