We won't even make the NIT!  This team will finish in the bottom half of the Big East.

After every non-conference loss the boards freak out and doom our season to hell.  Just calm down and let the young guys improve.  We are still a good team.

Can we call this the "Hyperbole Thread!!!"

I considered doing the same last night.

Oh, also:

The sky is falling!!!

Jackson_Downer

I am fairly confident saying we will make the NIT.
"Nice helmet!"
"Actually, it's not a helmet, it's a hairmet.  You see, it's got extra room in it so you don't mess up your hairdo."
"I'm going to write you a prescription for two testicles, you get it filled whenever."

+100...as in, the are at least 100 teams better than MU!

EDIT: It's already started on the "Zags. In game chatter" thread.

You beat me to this :P

If only we had taken away 1 more offensive rebound from Gonzaga and if only we would of made 1 more shot.

Not an over reaction but on a neutral court one would think with all this talent we would win this game.  Gonzaga already lost to San Diego State and hasn't looked too great this year.

Disappointing

madtownwarrior

makes the UWM game a must win, losing a 3rd in a row to a mid-major rival would be devastating...

As Buzz has said the teams hasn't been able to consistently put together long stretches of "us."  They still are having break downs offensively and defensively.  It's still early in the season..and why anyone thinks MU should have beaten the Number 1 team in the country and defending national championship...or why anyone is freaking out over losing to perinneal Sweet 16 team, and highly regarded Gonzaga team...just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I'm encouraged, as we were very competitive...yet it is clear to almost all of us that the team isn't playing to its full capability or potential just yet.  If there is an area of disappointment it probalby stems from the fact that it seemed we were outhustled and outworked tonight...which is very rare for an MU team in the last decade.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

SD State was picked to win the Mountain West over BYU - UNLV - New Mexico.  They have a lot of talent.  Steve Fisher can recruit - he just can't coach.  Sound familiar?

You nailed it. I give a rip about losing to Duke, and even Gonzaga, but I am very disappointed that they simply got outworked and out-toughed tonight. Something none of us are used to seeing (and that I suspect we are not likely to see again any time soon).

Honestly, you know what I'd like to see?  A moratorium on people telling other people what to write or not write.  How to react or not react.

And yes, I realize the complete irony of this post.

I think we're headed towards Division II.

+1.   My only disappointment is we are teased with the promise of greater things and they just have not put it all together yet.  Thankfully, it is not even Thanksgiving yet.

Yup, sounds familiar

El Duderino

We have a roster that had a lot of turnover from last season and multiple key contributors are either freshman, a sophomore that played very little as a freshman, or was JC guy like Crowder. Only Butler, DJO, and Buycks played significant minutes last season. Growing pains should be expected and hopefully the team will get better as the season goes along.

That said, perimeter shooting could remain a weakness all year long and so could rebounding. At least one of those two areas will have to improve significantly though because a good college team can survive being weak in one of those areas, but not both because each are so vital to successful teams.

Gonzaga has been to the Sweet 16 in 2 of the past 9 NCAA tournaments. I wouldn't call 22% perennial. They are a perennial NCAA tournament team, but that's about it.
