Loses 4-3 in penalty kicks.  Great run by the ladies again this year.  They knocked off Purdue yesterday.

Congratulations to Markus Roeders and the Marquette women's soccer team.

Mega dittos! No shame in losing in the second round of the NCAA Tourney against perennial women's soccer power Florida.

Another strong season for the women. Congrats!!

Was at the match this afternoon... Pretty evenly played match, I wish it was called more evenly though. The official was really poor, MU was called for 25 fouls to Florida's 12, MU had 4 yellows to Florida's 2, and one girl sent off in the second overtime. Terribly one-sided, but MU managed to battle through it.

MU had a wonderful chance in the first overtime period when the Florida back played a poor touch on the ball and Mallams from MU was in on goal and pushed the shot wide. Florida's keeper made a hell of a save on MU's fifth PK, then put it away with the next kick.

Coach Roeders is building quite the program, hopefully Bennett can do the same with the men's team.

What a coincidence. The MLS championship between Houston Dynamo and New England Revolution ended the same way: 4-3 on penalties!

Go Earthquakes...er...Dynamo!
