"I've experienced so much in my career and now I get to coach my old Marquette Final Four teammate, Joe Chapman," said Wade, referring to the Bloom alum who tipped in the winning shot at the buzzer to eliminate Brother Rice in 2000.

"It's always fun to come back home and do different things for the community," Wade said. "We just had a weekend where my foundation helped kids in Chicago. In September, I'll be back to help coach Bloom against the school that knocked my team out of the state tournament in 2000."

I can't wait for this game... going to get tickets today.  Dwight Howard was on WGN this morning and will be coaching Brother Rice.  These guys have been training for weeks getting ready for a rematch of Joe Chapman's 2000 Bloom Township HS team vs Brother Rice.

While we (B.R.) were a better team in 2000, I don't know if we have a chance today...

Season 3 of Gatorade REPLAY, documented through the Emmy-nominated REPLAY the Series on FSN, reunites two major names in Chicago basketball - the Bloom Township Trojans and the Brother Rice Crusaders.  In 2000, their game was one for the ages. A state playoff game that decided who would go "downstate" to the Elite 8 and who would go home. With just seconds left and the game tied at 40-40, a desperation tip-in from Bloom standout, Joe Chapman, was counted. One problem.  The shot clock buzzer was drowned out by the roar of the crowd so a firing pistol was also used to signal the end of the game. The ball left Chapman's hands before the firing pistol but after the buzzer, shrouding that final shot in controversy for more than a decade.  Well, it's about time to settle the score and determine an undisputed victor once and for all.
