Good luck to him, it would be great to get another Warrior in the NBA

Considering all the money Herb just spent, James at the league minimum would be a pretty good fit....plus get more MU fans potentially interested in the Bucks.  Considering how James passed the ball his senior season, he would be a nice backup who wouldn't be pressured to hit from long range.  Also, his injury is well in the past.  Last summer, despite stating he was 100 percent, he wasn't really 100 percent.

Herb would buy some good will with MU fans.....many of whom are not natural Bucks fans, but do know how to get to the Bradley Center.

This would guarantee that the annual Jazz-Bucks game would sell out!   :)

Best of luck DJ!

I don't know that either DJ or Jerel will ever make it in the NBA.

That said, I would bet that DJ makes it before Jerel.

The Bucks are doing this as a favor to DJ. If you read the story, its an audition to make the SUMMER LEAGUE Team. In the summer, the Bucks let local players use the facilities as a goodwill gesture for players. Since most of the Bucks are at home, the gym/workout area/trainers aren't in use and is a nice way to get a reputation among European players. Kirk Penney was there 2 weeks ago when I was there and it seems like a common occurrence.
If anything, its a chance to look at players in case they have a ten-day spot open later on.

Yes, did read the article and I know that DJ's chances are way long.

But they were long last summer league for Wesley Matthews.

And like Matthews, DJ or McNeal will need a special situation with the right team to make the league.

It's better than NOT being invited.

I would rather talk about this than beating the horse that is now so dead it's one of those deer you see along side of the road that was vaporized by a semi.

Fair enough, but didn't want people to think the Bucks were close to signing him or anything.

I'd like to thank MartyConlon for not letting the scoopers get out of control on the message boards.  Where were you during the Newbill fiasco?

MedicineHatSpanker

It is an honor to be invited. This young man has earned a special place in the pantheon of Marquette Heroes. We should savour his accomplishments. The negativity here can be disturbing.

martyconlonontherun

sorry didn't mean to be negative. I just don't like readin post that everytime there is a roster spot open for the Bucks or Bulls that everyone think Diener or James is the perfect fit cause he went to MU. James will have a great bball career and make a good living doing it but it will most likely be overseas.

pbiflyer

The Heat could use a backup PG that is athletic and can bring the ball up, maybe drive to the hoop.  ;D

There are no Marquette Warriors playing in the NBA. The last one was Chris Crawford.

They're all Warriors, but if you want to look at it that way, then technically Amal and Crawford both played the 03-04 season to finish their NBA careers.

ATL MU Warrior

article on JSonline states James made Bucks summer league roster.  good for him.

Here's hoping he plays a little bit better than McNeal did with the Bobcats.

i can't see james making the nba. he's 5'9 and shoots free throws worse than rondo

Actually, he is a legit 6 feet.  He also has elite athleticism and strength,  so I don't think his size is going to factor much against him.  Why short change him?  Aren't you a fan?  DJ is AWESOME!!!

CAINMUTINY

I lived in humphrey and can attest he is not 6 feet tall. He is 5'10 most.

5'10" TOPS. No where near 6 feet. I've stood right next to him. I'm over 6 feet and I was looking at the top of his head.
