Jerel was just standing up during the 1st timeout, but not in game yet in 1st quarter.

Mr. Nielsen

Thanks for the heads up. I was watching it, cause there is nothing on tv untill the Brewers game at 3pm.

Jerel just came in to run the point with 7 minutes to go in half

Stole it from Gaines for the second time, and Gaines Gaines fouled him back - McNeal sank the free throws and announcers talked about this being a chance for Jerel going up against a guy who was in the league last year.  Jerel did miss a trey in between.  Back on bench - just played a couple of minutes, but some activity both ways.

That was Sundiata Gaines he was matched up against.  Gaines was having a big first half prior to Jerel coming in, but Jerel scrapped with him pretty well, handling his pressure at the point and stealing it from him twice in his two minutes.  I guess the Jazz actually had Gaines in developmental league last year, but he did average 24 ppg there.

Still just the couple of minutes played in the 2nd quarter (now 5 minutes to play in 3rd).
The three returning roster players for the Bobcats had 36 of their 52 points and noone else had more than 4 points in first half.
They are giving the best look to Sherrod Collins, who went undrafted out of Kansas and has put on weight, but just knocked down a couple of long jumpers.
Charlotte didn't have any draft picks this year, so sure they told him they would have drafted him.
Jerel's schedule is Monday, July 5, against Utah at 1:00 PM (ET) and follow up with a meeting against Oklahoma City on July 6 at 3:00 PM (ET). Charlotte then plays Boston on July 7 at 1:00 PM (ET) before a meeting with Philadelphia on July 8 at 7:00 PM (ET). The Bobcats conclude summer league play against host Orlando on July 9 at 2:00 PM (ET). All games will be televised nationally on NBA TV.

Charlotte squandered a huge first half lead. Utah battled back to take the lead, but qith 6:41 left in the 4th, CHA up 70-67.

No Jerel.

Pargo getting the look here.

looks like Jeremy Pargo (Gonzaga then Israel) and Collins are showing more/getting a more serious look at guard than Jerel today. During his one stretch, McNeal was lauded by announcers for his on-ball defense, which had seemed to be a weakness.  Collins running the point again in a tight game with 5 minutes left, so don't know if we'll see Jerel again.

I think Jerel's done for the day. Looks like the Bobcats aren't going to mess with the chemistry right now (Pargo/Henderson/Williams/Ajinca/?) with 1:03 left.

Well, Pargo did have a terrible last possession with a two point lead, got in a bad spot and threw up a prayer airball that missed by 5 feet and gave Utah a chance to come down and win on a last second shot (which they missed).  Hopefully Jerel gets more of a look the rest of the week.  I'd have to say the Bobcats pecking order right now would be:

Guard pecking order for Bobcats
1. Raymond Felton
2. DJ Augustine
3. Larry Hughes (is he going free agent)
4. Gerald Henderson
5. Jeremy Pargo
6. Sherrod Collins
7. Jerel McNeal
8. Antonio Anderson
9. Marcus Ginyard
10. Brandon Hazzard
11. Dennis Clemente

Remaining seconds, Charlotte cannot get a pass inbounds within the 5 second whistle.

Utah scores 2 on a James Augustine hook. Jazz get the ball back off of a Pargo shot clock beating attempt and push the ball with seconds ticking on the game clock.

GHayward had a driving look but passed to an open Sundiata Gaines who missed an open three.

Game ends. Charlotte escapes with 2.

Darius Miles starting a comeback. Good for him. It takes guts to leave the millions from his insurance settlement behind for the chance to play basketball professionally again.
