It is my prediction that we will likely never get much of an explanation of what transpired from Buzz. Thats the right thing to do. Not only does Buzz not owe any of us except Newbill a full explanation, he shouldn't be publicizing details about what happened with an 18 year old's personal situations.

I think we are doing a disservice to Marquette Basketball by posting every random dude's blog saying we handled Newbill's situation poorly. Its not like I'm worried or anything, I just don't see the positive of spreading this information that provides nothing new whatsoever and paints us in a negative light. We are taking this stuff from a place where nobody would see it (quick--raise your hand if you'd heard of "oversigning.com" before today), to a place where there is an outside chances recruits might be looking in.

or at least crunch them into one thread.

So we don't waste the "locks". ;)

I'm more disturbed by the topics started by users on this website than third party blogs and b.s. articles.

Especially the idiots that say, "I luv Buzz, but...." with every post.  I hope some of these jerks find a confessional this weekend and reconcile their sins.
The portal is NOT closed.

OK...I guess I'm one of the jerks then but since I'm not Catholic I don't do the confessional thing.

I am going to stop posting on this topic now unless something new transpires, but this is a discussion board about MU basketball, not a cheerleading site where every one is happy in a world of blue and gold unicorns that crap rainbows.

I think Buzz has done a number of very positive things, but I also think he has made errors.  The one thing I have learned about sports figures is that they are human and make mistakes.  Those who don't seem to want to acknowledge that, and will use every shred of evidence to give him the benefit of the doubt, really annoy me.

Sultan, I understand your point re: cheerleading. I think it's the mock moral outrage people are sick of (I'm not pointing the finger at you here).

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

I'd like to add, this thread is really stupid.  I absolutely want to read what other sites have to say about our program, good or bad.  I, and everyone else, can judge the impact of each site on our own.  The thought that we should "vote" to stop the submission of other sites' commentary is like asking one to bury one's head in the sand.

(Pretty sure there's already a site for that!)

Whatever.  This is the only site I check when I want to find out what "actually happened" and it is pretty borderline in doing that.  I can get the official MU rah rah story from plenty of other sites.

As far as us saying things that will scare away recruits, I'm not too worried about it.  Read what some people on the UNC blogs said about that team this season.  I think they will still get decent players.  The fact that there is so much chatter about this shows how many people out there care about the program and how it is perceived.  If this happened at UWM, no one would care.

I have no problem acknowledging his mistakes, but your comment  cuts both ways. There are those that don't acknowledge the positive things and use every shred of evidence to damn him. You can't take away from the positives he has done. I am glad that the people who evaluate me don't say "You did some great things but that dosent matter because you may screw up 5 years from now." The positive things happened and they do matter.
