No, it does not.  1 post, 1 personal attack.  That's not to be celebrated.  It's exactly what we need people knock off.

It doesn't look like a personal attack to me.  If anything, I'd call it self-defense.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Where do you see a specific personal attack. Just looks like a general rant about the postings here.

The post quoted, and was clearly aimed at one individual, about him, rather than his arguments.

It doesn't look like a personal attack to me.  If anything, I'd call it self-defense.

In order for it to be "self-defense", the poster would have had to have posted before.   And calling people idiots or drama-queens isn't a personal attack?

Debate the merits of the issue.    Pretty simple rule, guys.

If you don't like what's getting posted, especially by a single poster, there's always the "ignore" button.  Use it.

http://oversigning.com/testing/index.php/2010/06/30/marquette-screws-d-j-newbill-via-oversigning/

We made another website, oversigning.com which does a good job explaining why oversigning is a rule the NCAA needs to get a handle on.

Chicos didn't get this google alert because he's interested in MU, he got it because he has google alerts for TC, who also happened to be noted on this site a few weeks back.  http://oversigning.com/testing/index.php/2010/06/18/indiana-crean-on-the-clock/#more-1419

Incorrect...I don't have any Crean google alerts, I have them setup for Marquette and Buzz Williams.  That's it.

You provide us with almost all of the negative stories about MU that are posted on this board and almost none of the positive ones. Do you have a filter on your Google alert that only sends you obscure sights that rip MU?

Incorrect, I present plenty of positive ones, you just don't read them or ignore them.  I'm sorry that you're a selective reader, that's your problem.

Do a search, it's not hard.

Reading that story about Crean, is it really ethically worse to back out of a NLI like happened to Newbill compared to Crean basically pushing two guys out of the program who failed to live up to his expectations so those spots could be filled with new recruits?

I'm not asking in a Buzz vs Crean matter because Indiana doing some spring Creaning for guys who haven't performed well on the court does happen a lot elsewhere. I ask because to me while both situations are kinda sleazy, if i was a player i think i'd rather be shown the door before even entering a program than to be a freshman/sophomore/junior that a coach pretty much pushed out the door for new recruits. At least a kid in the spot like Newbill has the chance to hopefully find a school and coach he likes that can lead to an enjoyable four year college experience with continuity.

For guys though like Bawa Muniru and Malik Story that Crean ran out of the Indiana program along with the countless other kids in college basketball/football programs that get ran out in similar fashion, they are forced to find a new school to attend after being comfortable in the program that signed them, along with having to sit out a year.

I'm not defending at all what Buzz looks like he did because on the surface it looks slimy, but i do think i'd rather be in DJ's situation than to be run out of a program after i was already situated there for a year or two and then be forced to transfer and have to start all over again.
