New Era Warriors

MA: I'm just working out trying to stay ready. I might have some NBA workouts, and hopefully get picked up on a summer league team so I can showcase my talent. If that doesn't work out, I'ma go overseas.

As much as I love Mo, I think getting picked up on an NBA summer league team is a LONG shot. That being said, best of luck to Mo as he moves on in his basketball career.

Alright, I will get it out of the way.  The irony of Mo getting interviewed by a mag named SLAM, when in fact he can't dunk the ball.  :p

He was the starting PG on a Big East team that did way better than expected and almost never turned the ball over.  He's worth looking at for summer league.

Summer Leagues just need bodies.

Case in point: Scott Merritt played on the Bulls summer league team (leading to his former coaching embarrassing the guy by showing up for practice like the complete and utter jackass that he is).

Did his coaching embarrasment pull up to the practice in a stretch Hummer wearing a Hai Karate suit and Euro Trash shades?

A somewhat telling omission takes place when the following question is asked.

SLAM: How was it being somebody who teams keyed in on night in, night out?

SLAM only prints responses from Will Walker and Jerome Randle.  It was the only question other than the PAC-10 POY question to Randle that wasn't answered by all three.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Tems learned to their great horror that leaving Little Mo free was a mistake of epic proportions.

"When I enrolled at Ball State my freshman year, I was just thinking I gotta get it done on the court, you know, basketball is everything. I was young-minded. I thought school was for nerds. Going to Marquette was probably the best thing for me. You gotta be on top of your academics, you gotta be doing the right things. They don't want any trouble going on, they just want you to be able to produce on the court, and take care of business off the court. It's a major program so anything you do can get out to the public. Just becoming a man was one of the biggest things they taught me, Coach Buckley, Coach Crean, and Coach Buzz. I became a better person, not just worried about basketball, but doing the right things in life." -Acker

Awesome!!

And what is wrong with him showing up.  And, why is it embarassing?  Your man-love for the guy is showing again... :o

Tell that to a Badger fan.  When I was at MU, my friends at UW@Madison would tell me how cool it was that they did not have to waste time on PHIL and THEO classes.  Mo just said it all...it's about becoming a more well rounded person.
