I felt comfortable that Buzz wasn't going anywhere, but this would be a relief nonetheless.

Just read a Fox story that says Dana Altman is close to a done deal to be Oregon's new coach...found it AFTER searching for him because they were paging Dana Altman for his flight to Omaha in the Milwaukee airport...was thinking it was a Mills recruiting trip until I saw the Oregon news...weird!

Golden Avalanche

He spurned one major program within 24 hours of being hired, can he repeat the feat?

If not, a ho-hum ending to a ludicrously poor search.

willie warrior

Altman is a very good coach. Wonder if he will reneg like he did with Arkansas?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

Wasn't really worried, but at least this nips the rumors in the bud before they gain any steam.

4everwarriors

So, does Jamil Wilson stay with Altman or do we take another?
"Give 'Em Hell, Al"

MUCrisco

Dana Altman was in the Dells today for the Nike Coaches clinic.  His topic was attacking zone defenses.

sailwi

After all that, is Altman that much of an upgrade.

GGGG

Altman is a better coach than Ernie Kent yes...

Avenue Commons

Living in Eugene, Oregon year round is a hell of a lot better than Omaha (or Milwaukee). A chunk of Phil Knight's cash doesn't hurt either.

As long as they don't make him do anything like this he'll stick around at Oregon

edit: for some reason it changes the link after I post but I suggest searching "Dana Altman Arkansas" on youtube and looking at the 55 second video of him doing the Pig Sooie cheer, it is pure gold.

Only IF Oregon can be classified as a major program.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

One man's opinion. I live downtown Milwaukee, and I love it. I've been to Eugene...I would take Milwaukee every time. Different strokes for different folks.
